Taylorville Community Credit Union in Litchfield opened its doors in December of 2007 when TCCU acquired the deposits and loans from Midwest Federal Credit Union in McHenry, Illinois. A branch of Midwest Federal Credit Union shared a space with Dana Brake Parts which served their employees as well as those from Sierra International. When Dana Brake Parts announced they were closing their Litchfield facility, Midwest Federal Credit Union sold the deposits and loans to Taylorville Community Credit Union. TCCU then opened up the membership to everyone who worked in Montgomery, Christian, and Shelby Counties. A short time later, TCCU moved from the Dana Brake Parts location to 110 E. Ryder St. in downtown Litchfield. In November of 2014, TCCU purchased 801 W. Union Avenue, in Litchfield which was formerly the Medicine Shoppe. Renovations to the space began in February 2015, and the branch opened for business on October 26, 2015. Services such as an ATM, Night Deposit, and a Drive-Thru were added to better serve TCCU’s members.
